Konrad - with civil name Johannes Birmensdorfer - was born as a son of a farmer. He was always an very religious Man.


He was baptiset at the church of the parish of Weng.
As the youngest son of the farmer his brothers and sister wantet to let him continue at the farm (this was usual at this epoche - the youngest son shall become the new farmer). Only, Konrad wanted to go to the monastery; with many problems, he was rejected several times, so he could not become priest. With 30 years of age he found his place at the cloister of the capuchines at Altötting, he was admittet with the name Konrad and he got an place at the door for his whole life
Konrad spent 41 years at the door, met thousands of pilgrims with different wishes. Many children from poor familys at Altötting also came to the door begging, and there was always something for each of them. Even when working 18 hours each day at the door, the prayor was the center of Conrad's life.Conrad also had the gift of prophecy and of reading people’s hearts During every free minute day and night he prayed. He had also an extraordinary desire for the holy eucharisty. Thats why he got daily communiun, exceptional to the normal mode at the cloister.
With 75 Years he became inable to do his duty due to symptoms of heigh age. Even at the hour of his death he went up, wantet to go to the door, believing nobody has heard the bell. But he brook down, did not speak any word until the hour of his death.

Konrad was buried at the church of the cloister, 1930 the church's name has been changed to Brother-Konrad-Kirche.
